1. Who are Bryon and Mark?

- Bryon and Mark are best friends, basically brothers. They live and do almost everything together. Bryon is tough and big guy. Mark is more slender, small, and intelligent.

2. Who are the two young people Bryon and Mark meet at the hospital?

- First, Bryon meets a girl named Cathy, who is M&M's sister. He begins to like her. Second, they meet Mike, a stupid boy, who gets beat up by 12 black people because he was accused of harming this one black girl.

3.What kind of relationship does Bryon have with Charlie ?

- Bryon looks up to Charlie. He well respects him. Also, Bryon goes to him for things he may need. Charlie thinks of Bryon as trustworthy but with a bad mouth and statements.

4. What happens at the dance ?

- Bryon is having so much fun dancing with Cathy that he forgets all about Angela and the achohol in Terry's car. Outside in the parking lot a boy Angela uses to get revenge on Curtis for not going with her, grabs a beer bottle in the parking lot. Instead of hitting Curtis with it, he hits Mark because Mark trys to stop the fight. Mark falls to the ground and passes out. Bryon rushes over, and they get Mark to a hospital.

5. What does Bryon begin to discover in his private conversations with Mark ?

- He realizes that Mark was illegitamate, a child born from a couple that was not married. Also, his parents had died. Bryon begins to discover that eventhough it never seemed to bother Mark, mabey it had all along.

6. What happened to Charlie ? How do Bryon and Mark feel about it ?

-Charlie had been shot above his left eye trying to save Mark and Bryon from Texans, who wanted revenge from being hustled. Marks feels that things happened. On the other hand, Bryon feels that it was their fault. Charlie had warned him and they had ignored him. Also, he feels strange. It was weird for him to be standing next to Charlie alive one second and dead the other.

7.What do Mark and Cathy think of eachother ?

- Mark and Cathy are never going to become friends. Cathy does not know what to make of Mark, and Mark might be a bit jelous of Cathy and Bryon's relationship.

8. What does Mark do to Angela? why ?

-Mark cuts off all of Angela's hair while she was passed out to get revenge on her for setting up Curtis and almost killing Mark.

9. In chapter 7, what does Bryon begin to discover about his good friend Mark?

- In chapter seven, Bryon begins to realize that alll the bad things that have happened to Mark never left a mark on him. He was a "lion" that did not care for anyone except Bryon. He is dangerous and everyone seems to like it.

10. What happens to Bryon at Terry Jone's house? How does his attitude change?

- Bryon gets beat up by the Shepard kids at Terry Jone's house. They beat him up as revenge for cutting Angela's hair. He changes his attitude and decides to make sure that Mark does not plan revenge on the Shepards anymore. He is done going back and forth with fighting.

11. In chapter 9, what happens to M&M? Why does this move Bryon?

- In chapter nine, Bryon and Cathy find M&M in the hippie house. His hair is long, and he is skinny and dirty. He seems very disturbed while looking frightened and talking about the "spiders". He has used a drug, LSD, that gives you extreme hallucinations. Bryon feels terrible for M&M. He feels in a way that he would if M&M were his own brother. He feels Cathy and M&M's pain.

12. What shocking discovery does Bryon make in Mark'd bedroom? What does he do ?

- Bryon had found drugs in a cylinder container under Mark's matress. He decides to call the cops, and they take him away.

13. How does Bryon's relationship with his friends and his attitude toward life change completely?

- After the incident with Mark, Bryon begins to shut people out. He doesn't care to hang with his buddies anymore. He also focuses on his studies more while becoming quiet and shy. Everything around him just seems to happen leaving him unaffected and unoticed. Also, him and Cathy don't go out anymore.

14. How does Bryon feel at the end of the book ?

- Bryon feels mixed up because he feels that he has become like the people in his life. He has gained so many different traits from different people that all the traits are mixed up and confused. He also doesn't feel the need to interact with people anymore. Bryon wishes he had all the answers, but he is learning how to accept that he does not.

15. What did you think about the book and what life message does it teach ?

- This was a very well written book. It went into so much detail that did not bore you. It also taught a lesson. Things are going to change as we get older, and how we handle it is our decision. We will need to cope with change or embrace it, but keep your family and friends first.
